Using a Mysterious Spellbook Ended Up Creating a Slave Harem - Chapter 40

First Date with Otowa-chan

It was the first Sunday after Kojina-san and I started dating. Today was our very first date.

On Saturday, the day before, I had poured my semen into Chihiro until I was completely empty, so I welcomed today feeling refreshed. Furthermore, I had collected spending money from Iroha, so my pockets were feeling warm and heavy.

Today, we planned to date in the most bustling town near her house. The plan was to meet in front of the station, do some window shopping in the morning, have lunch, watch a movie, rest at a cafe afterward, and finally, walk Kojina-san back to her house before ending the day.

Our meeting time was 10:30, but I left my house aiming to arrive by 10:00. If I kept a super beautiful girl like her waiting, she would undoubtedly get hit on constantly by random guys.

As planned, I arrived at the meeting spot in front of the station a little before 10:00. Of course, Kojina-san wasn't there yet.

I waited for her at a spot clearly visible from the station exit. While killing time on my smartphone, I observed the people around me who were also waiting for someone.

Basically, the guys arrived first, and the girls arrived later. Naturally, there were all-male or all-female groups too, but I couldn't spot a single girl who could rival Kojina-san.

While secretly feeling a sense of superiority over the guys around me, the girl I had been longing for emerged from the station. She was dressed up even more beautifully than when we went to the club president's house or during the cultural festival after-party, and her face lit up when she spotted me.

"Saida-kun♪"

As she lightly waved her hand and jogged toward me cutely, the gazes of the people gathered in the area locked onto her. Even I found myself momentarily captivated by the smiling girl standing right in front of me.

"Sorry. Did I keep you waiting?"

"...N-No, I'm fine. It's only natural for the guy to wait."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. By the way... you look extra cute today."

"Ugh... M-Move over, d-don't say such... embarrassing things..."

"...Actually, I felt embarrassed myself right after saying it."

"...Fufu♪ Well, shall we get going?"

"Sounds good. First, let's—"

The guys around us wore complicated expressions at our sugary sweet conversation, while their female partners gave those guys displeased looks. Without caring about the unsettling atmosphere we had brought upon several couples, we set off on our first date.

"Phew..."

"...Are you okay? Are you tired?"

"No, I'm fine."

We had finished window shopping and were now inside a family restaurant for lunch. Price-wise, it was a restaurant perfectly suited for a high school couple.

Considering my spending funds, we could have gone to a more high-class restaurant, but Kojina-san was the one who decided on this place. Since she didn't know about my financial situation, she probably chose it out of consideration for my wallet.

Window shopping had been fun. The public order in this town was good, so we didn't get tangled up in any trouble and were able to enjoy our date normally.

Well, even if someone had tried to start something, I would have been fine combining the physical capabilities I enhanced with magic alongside my buff and debuff spells, but it's always better if there are no problems to begin with.

"That outfit looked like it would suit you, though."

"As expected, the price was a bit... you know?"

"Even as a commemorative gift for our first date, I could have bought it for you."

"No. It would weigh heavily on my mind."

We passed the time waiting for our food by talking about the clothes we had seen while window shopping. Even during this time, glances kept flying our way from other tables, likely due to Kojina-san's beautiful looks.

Those gazes didn't stop even while we ate our ordered dishes. While the envious and jealous stares of the guys tickled my sense of superiority, getting this much attention started to get exhausting.

I realized a fraction of the hardships she must face, usually drawing eyes wherever she goes. I would have to give more consideration to our date locations next time.

Since watching a movie was next on the agenda, she would probably be able to rest a bit. As the start time for our intended movie approached, I stood up from my seat holding the bill.

"Shall we head out soon?"

"Yeah. ...Ah, I'll pay for my own share."

"No, it's our first date, so I'll treat you today."

"But..."

"Just look at it as a guy trying to show off."

"Hmm... O-Okay, I understand. But only for today, okay?"

"Yeah, thank you."

"I should be the one saying thank you. Thank you for the meal."

While enjoying a very couple-like conversation with Kojina-san, we walked toward the cash register.

After arriving at the movie theater, she told me the movie she had chosen, which turned out to be an unexpected American comic book action film.

"...Doesn't it suit me?"

"No... sorry, I actually thought you would choose a different movie."

"I don't come to movie theaters very often, so I chose something that looked like it would be more fun to watch in a theater rather than streaming it."

"I see."

Sitting side-by-side in the couple seats, we enjoyed chatting until the screening began. The reason she didn't visit movie theaters often was likely due to the troubles caused by her beauty.

Not only would people stare at her, but she probably got hit on or scouted a lot too. Well, it would be fine once the movie started, so I decided not to worry about it.

"Since it's been a while since you've been to a theater, we have to enjoy it."

"Yes♪ And besides, today... I-I'm with Saida-kun, so..."

"I-I see..."

"U-Uh-huh..."

At the words Kojina-san let out while blushing, I found myself turning red as well. Darkness then enveloped our flushed faces, and the movie began screening.

Once the movie ended and we finished watching all the way through the end credits, we stood up from our seats. As we walked out of the theater shoulder-to-shoulder, she made a suggestion.

"Saida-kun. For the next cafe, is it okay if we go to a place I know?"

"Of course. I leave it to you."

"Okay. Leave it to me. Well then, let's go."

Following Kojina-san's lead, we arrived at a place with a slightly calm atmosphere. Located on the first floor of a building there, an old-fashioned cafe that looked like it had been around for ages was our destination.

Upon entering, a female staff member confirmed the number of people and guided us to a table. The seats there were surrounded by house plants and partitions, ensuring we didn't have to worry about glances from other tables.

"My family has been coming to this shop since a long time ago, it's my favorite place."

"I see."

"That's why... I decided that if I ever went on a first date with the person I love, it would be here..."

"K-Kojina-san..."

Ever since we started dating, she had been throwing out phrases that struck my heart directly. It made me incredibly happy to confirm that she really loved me that much.

"Ngh... Saida-kun, what are you having?"

"I'm thirsty, so something cold, I guess."

Looking at the menu together to choose what to order was also fun. Having a girlfriend is the absolute best, I thought, as I prayed that this happy time would last for a long time.

Our first date neared its end, and we walked together toward the station. Since Kojina-san's home wasn't far from this town, I intended to walk her home today.

"Ah, this is cute..."

Along the way, she spotted something and stopped. Following her gaze, a small, ten-centimeter dog figurine was displayed at a storefront.

"This dog?"

"Yes♪"

Thinking it would make a good commemorative gift for our first date, I reached out my hand, but Kojina-san made the same move a split second faster. As a result, the exact same situation that had happened in the club room before the cultural festival occurred once again.

"Ah..."

"Ngh..."

The difference from back then was that we were already in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Unlike before, she didn't pull her hand back; instead, her face turned red and she froze up.

Since it was my first time experiencing such a bittersweet atmosphere, I became flustered too. The one who broke the freeze of our clasped hands was a single comment from the side.

"My... how refreshing♪"

Hearing a voice suddenly right next to us, I inadvertently let go of Kojina-san's beautiful hand. Standing at the place I turned my face toward was a woman in traditional Japanese clothing (wason).

At a glance, she looked to be around her late twenties or early thirties, a quite beautiful woman with a natural short black bob. Even through her traditional clothing, one could tell she had a large bust. She smiled gently at us as she walked past my side.

"Do your best, Boyfriend-kun♪"

Leaving behind a whispering voice meant only for my ears, she elegantly walked away. As I reflexively followed her back with my eyes, the displeased voice of the girl next to me entered my ears.

"Saida-kun?"

"A-Ah, yeah..."

"...Saida-kun, do you prefer mature women like that?"

"N-No, that's not it! It's just because she gave me words of encouragement at the end..."

"Encouragement?"

"Yeah. She said something like 'Do your best, Boyfriend-kun'."

"...I-Is that so."

Kojina-san's face, which had been slightly puffing up her cheeks, shifted into a embarrassed expression. I was able to re-realize through our dating that she naturally showed me these expressions which she normally kept hidden from others.

"...Ah— shall we get going soon?"

"U-Uh-huh."

"...Shall we, hold hands?"

"...I-Idiot..."

Unfortunately, it seemed holding hands was still too embarrassing for her. It looked like moving our relationship forward would take quite some time.
