Using a Mysterious Spellbook Ended Up Creating a Slave Harem - Chapter 74
Second Year of High School
The first year of high school came to an end after spending my days repeating dates with Otowa-chan—having sex whenever an opportunity presented itself—and living an indecent life with Iroha and the others. During the spring break that followed, I spent my time entertaining Yuzuha, who had come over to visit.
Then April arrived, and Rina, Otowa-chan, and I advanced to our second year. We had all submitted requests for the humanities track, placing our bets on the possibility of being placed in the same class.
Normally, the school divides students into four humanities classes and two science classes. The general rule of thumb is that humanities classes end up with more girls, while science classes have more boys.
The best-case scenario for me would be ending up in the same class as Rina and Otowa-chan. It would be absolute perfection if a certain young, pure-hearted actress who recently gained popularity were placed in the same class as well.
Naturally, the worst-case scenario would be ending up in a different class from them. I went around spamming that supposedly luck-bringing magic—whose actual effects were still unknown—so I wondered how things would turn out.
Thinking about such things on the train, I reached the station nearest to the high school before I knew it. Mingling with the other students, I walked past the school gates and headed toward the spot where the class assignments were posted.
Looking up at the board alongside fellow students who were experiencing highs and lows of emotion, I searched for my name. The humanities track ranged from Class 1 to Class 4. Starting with Class 1, I spotted my name right there in the first class.
After confirming that, I scanned the list of girls' names in Class 1 from top to bottom. As I went down the alphabetical list, I let out a deep exhale halfway through.
"...Alright."
Forming a victory pose in my mind, I double-checked the list again and again to make sure those names were truly there. Brightly shining right where my eyes landed were the names: Otowa Kojina and Rina Takechi.
Unfortunately, the name of that famous, beautiful, pure-hearted actress wasn't in Class 1. Among the guys, the only one I had been friendly with since first year was Fukura, the class representative; Shigemitsu was in a different class.
Well, at least Esaka's name wasn't on the list, which was a relief. Pestering Rina and Otowa-chan the way he did might have turned into an issue with the school.
Additionally, Chigasaki had requested the science track, so being in a separate class was already guaranteed. Remembering how I had assumed he would pick humanities just to chase after Rina and Otowa-chan, I recalled feeling quite surprised at the time.

Entering the new classroom through the front door, I saw that Otowa-chan was already there, sitting in her seat. Noticing me, her facial expression remained unchanged, but she gave me a subtle wave, making sure other students wouldn't notice.
Knowing that reacting back would draw attention from others, I looked toward the blackboard without doing anything. Unlike the class assignment posting outside, the seating chart written on the board listed everyone's names in alphabetical order, mixing boys and girls together.
For my second year, my seat was once again directly behind Otowa-chan. Sitting down, I placed my belongings, pulled out my smartphone, and sent her a DM on social media:
I'm really glad we ended up in the same class. Looking forward to spending time with you.
After sending the DM, I got up and walked over to Fukura, who had been in my class during our first year. Another guy from our previous class was standing there as well.
"Good morning, Class Rep, Yashikida."
"Saida. Stop calling me 'Class Rep.'"
"Hey. So the guys from the former Class 4 are just the three of us?"
Three might seem small, but other classes only had two boys each. Class 2-1 consisted of 13 boys and 21 girls, with 31 students in the general track and 3 in the entertainment track.
"We really hit the jackpot with our class assignments two years in a row..." Yashikida said deeply. As Fukura and I unconsciously nodded in agreement, the other guys approached to talk to us.
"Hey, you guys are from the old Class 4, right? What were Takechi-san and Kojina-san like during your first year?"
"Ah, well—"
While we were chatting in our group of guys, the preliminary chime rang. At the same time, Rina entered the classroom with an elegant air. She checked the blackboard, scanned the room, and before heading to her desk, walked up to me with a smile to greet us.
"Good morning, Class Rep. Saida-kun too. Let's get along in our second year as well."
Seeing Rina's stunning beauty up close made the guys around us let out sighs of admiration. They turned envious glances toward us for being spoken to.
"...A-Ah, yeah. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you. So you managed to come today."
"Well, at least on the first day. See you later then."
With a wry smile, she waved her hand and walked to her seat. Watching her leave, Yashikida let out a sad voice.
"I-I'm..."
Fukura patted his shoulder to encourage him, while the other guys also commented on how cute Rina was, patting Yashikida's shoulder as they walked away. As I was doing the same, my phone vibrated to notify me of a message.
Returning to my seat, I checked my phone to find two DMs from Otowa-chan:
I'm so happy to be in the same class as Atsushi-kun too. You really are my person of destiny.
Atsushi-kun! You're grinning way too much!
It seemed she had been watching my interaction with Rina closely. Curving my lips upward slightly at her cute jealousy, I sat back down in my seat.

After our new homeroom teacher arrived, we moved to the gymnasium for the opening ceremony. Once the ceremony concluded without incident, we returned to the classroom for general announcements.
After that, each classmate gave a brief self-introduction—just saying their name and their first-year class assignment.
"I was in Class 4, my name is Otowa Kojina. I look forward to working with you for the year."
"I'm Rina Takechi. I was in Class 4 during my first year. I won't be able to come to school very often, but I look forward to working with you."
As expected, the applause was loudest for these two. Knowing that I had taken their virginities and shared physical intimacy with them gave me an indescribable sense of superiority.
By the way, the other two students in the entertainment track were a boy and a girl who started out as child actors. As for the girl, unfortunately, she was the type praised more for her acting ability than her looks, so I couldn't muster much interest.
In any case, those two also rarely attended school. It seems the school grouped all entertainment-track students who rarely attend, including Rina, into Class 1.

The next day, after finishing all classes and completing the final homeroom, I headed to the old building. Reaching the third floor, where the Fortune-Telling Club room was located, Otowa-chan was already waiting for me.
"Kojina-san."
"Saida-kun. Let's go together."
Feeling a sense of freshness at being called "Saida-kun" after a long time, we walked down the hallway side by side. Arriving at the club room, I knocked on the door first this time.
"It's Saida. Kojina-san is here too."
『...Come in.』
Responding to the voice of our club president, Ichikawa-senpai, who had arrived earlier, we opened the door and entered. Letting Otowa-chan sit down first before taking a seat next to her, the president teased us.
"Clocking in as a couple, I see. Thanks for the show."
"...Is it okay if we start flirting then?"
"I'm sorry. Please don't."
When she quickly surrendered, her expression turned serious. Surprised by the president's unusual tone, the two of us adjusted our posture to listen attentively.
"Well, yesterday was the start of the new school year. That means there's a chance new members might join."
"...Do you think so?"
"Who knows?"
"You don't have to shut it down right away. ...So, if anyone does join, the issue is what the two ghost members are going to do."
"Hmm... it feels like anyone joining might just be after Otowa-chan."
"That's a bit..."
Recalling the crowd of boys back during the culture festival, a feeling of annoyance welled up inside me. It might have been a miracle that the Fortune-Telling Club managed to resolve its survival issues back then before things got out of hand.
Perhaps remembering the same thing, Otowa-chan and the president both had distant looks in their eyes. As silence filled the space between the three of us, the super-beautiful girl who was the pride of the Fortune-Telling Club opened her mouth to speak.
"If that's the case, it might be better for me to quit the club if new members join."
"Right... If it's just one person, Otowa-chan quits; if it's two, I'll quit too—something like that?"
"Yeah... Shall we go with that plan then?"
As the president asked for confirmation, Otowa-chan and I nodded in agreement. Personally, I doubted any decent new member would join, but reading the room, I kept quiet.
