Using a Mysterious Spellbook Ended Up Creating a Slave Harem - Chapter 79

 Rina and Otowa

The Golden Week that finally brought Otowa under the control of my crest-slave spell has come to an end. From now on, I'll be able to get intimate with her even on weekdays.

With that thought in mind, I could walk to school in a good mood, despite the usually depressing aftermath of a long vacation. Walking through the school gate with that slightly elated feeling and stepping into the classroom, I noticed a cluster of students gathered in one spot.

At the center was Rina's desk, and her seated figure was visible through the crowd. With the school's proud super-popular idol showing up—a rare occurrence—students who had been in the same classroom since our second year seemed to have gathered around.

It's tough being a popular person, I thought as I moved to my own desk and put down my bag. Rina noticed me arrive and glanced my way for a second, but then went back to dealing with the people around her.

I scanned the classroom for the other super-breathtaking beauty, but she didn't seem to have arrived yet. A short while later, the warning bell rang, and at the same time, Otowa hurried into the classroom looking flustered.

She glanced at me briefly and headed toward her desk as usual. Then, midway through, she suddenly stopped and turned in a specific direction.

Ahead of her stood Rina, rising to her feet with a look of surprise. It was a bizarre scene unfolding before us: two beauties, impossible to rank against one another, staring at each other in sheer astonishment.

"Wh-What is it, Takechi-san?"

"W-What?"

The male students gathered around Rina spoke up in puzzlement, and the other students raised questioning voices as well. After all, our school's two great beauties were staring at each other in shock.

"......Ah...... N-Nothing. ......B-Besides, the warning bell already rang, so you should sit down."

"......Ah, yeah."

"Y-Yeah, right. The teacher's going to get mad."

At Rina's words, the surrounding students dispersed, and Otowa, regaining her composure, hurried over to her desk and sat down. As the whole classroom kept watching them, both of them pulled out their smartphones one after another and started tapping away.

Amidst the tense atmosphere, my phone vibrated. Pulling it out as naturally as possible and looking at the screen, I saw DMs pouring in consecutively from both Rina and Otowa.

It seems you've made Kamishina-san into one as well.

It seems you've made a move on Takechi-san as well.

Sentences that sounded like reproaches for cheating lined the screen. Even though I hadn't told anyone about Otowa yet, I found myself troubled over how it had been found out.

The ringing of the lunch bell echoed through the quiet classroom, where only the sound of the teacher's voice had been resonating. Hearing it, the teacher looked surprised and announced the end of class.

"Oh my? Already this time...... Today was easy to teach. I hope it's like this every time."

"''............'''"

"Hmm? ......Well, fine. That's all for today."

"......Stand up, bow."

When morning classes ended and lunch break began, the tense atmosphere finally eased up. From the morning onwards, a strange, prickling tension had persisted.

The cause was Rina and Otowa from this morning. The two of them had maintained that weird vibe ever since, leaving their classmates affected by it unable to relax.

Just as I thought the air might improve a bit, Rina and Otowa stood up simultaneously. While tension filled the room once more, the two exchanged glances, grabbed their bento boxes side by side, and left the classroom.

Seeing that, someone let out a heavy sigh, and daily life finally returned. Chatter broke out here and there, naturally revolving around the topic of those two.

"What's up with those two today?"

"Who knows? I don't know why, but it's kind of creepy."

"......They've been acting weird since morning, haven't they~?"

Listening to the boys' conversation, I also left the classroom. My mom overslept today so I didn't bring a bento, meaning I had to head to the store to buy some bread and a drink.

As I successfully secured my lunch and started heading back to the classroom, my phone vibrated. Wondering who it could be this time, I checked it and saw it was unexpectedly from Ichikawa-senpai.

Help! Get to the club room quickly!

The content was a cryptic call for rescue. Wondering if a black roach had appeared in the club room, I hurried toward the old building and dashed up to the third floor.

"It's Saida. Excuse me."

Arriving in front of the Fortune-Telling Club room, I knocked and opened the door before waiting for a reply. The sight inside was something I hadn't anticipated at all.

"......, ......Kojina-san, and Takechi-san?"

 "Hello, Saida-kun."

"Hi there, Saida-kun. Pardon the intrusion."

For some reason, the two girls who had left the classroom together were sitting facing each other. And the club president, cowering in a seat next to Otowa, looked up at me with a happy expression.

"W-Well, lunch is over, so I guess I'll head back to the classroom."

"......President?"

"I'll leave the rest to you, Saida-kun. ......Oh, Takechi-san, take your time."

"Yes. Thank you very much."

The president stood up, grabbed her belongings, and hurriedly evacuated the club room. That left only the three of us behind.

"U-Um......"

"Shh! Quiet."

Stopping Otowa from speaking, I stared at the door the president had just left through. I approached it stealthily and flung the door open all at once.

"......!! "

"I knew it......"

"Oh my......"

"......Mitsuho-san??"

There was the president, kneeling on one knee with her hand to her ear, trying to peek at what was happening inside. Surprised by the sudden opening of the door, she quickly recovered and made an excuse.

"No~, look, a huge piece of trash dropped right here."

"......There's no such thing here."

"I already picked it up, you see. Well then, bye-bye."

Acting as if nothing had happened, the president walked down the hallway toward the stairs. Reaching the stairs, she glanced back before descending, and noticing I was still watching, she hurried downward in a panic.

"She really is incorrigible......"

Returning to Rina and Otowa, I brought a chair to the midpoint between their facing desks and sat down. At the same time, I used Life Detection Magic to scan the surroundings and make sure we weren't being eavesdropped on.

After confirming there was no one around, I turned my attention to the two of them. Both of them looked at my face, waiting for me to speak.

"Sigh...... Otowa. Rina became my crest-slave last July."

"S-So early......"

"And Rina. Otowa only became a crest-slave four days ago."

 "A newcomer, huh?"

I explained each other's status to Rina and Otowa. Hearing that, the two faced each other and started sizing each other up.

"As the Master said, Rina has seniority as a crest-slave and I pride myself on having devoted myself to him."

"......I had Confessed my love to Atsushi-sama back in November of last year, and we maintained a romantic relationship for nearly half a year, you know?"

Rina wore a smug look, showing the composure of a senior. In opposition to that, Otowa emphasized her track record as a girlfriend.

For reasons unknown, these two seemed to have a relationship where they inevitably competed with each other. Perhaps they viewed each other as beauties on par with themselves and were very conscious of it.

"Cut it out. As far as I'm concerned, you're both crest-slaves."

"M-My apologies, Master."

"Pardon me, Atsushi-sama."

As the two obediently bowed their heads, I let out a light sigh and started eating my lunch. They also resumed the meals they had paused midway.

That said, there was no conversation between Rina and Otowa. In this situation, it was hard for me to talk to either of them either, so I silently crammed bread into my mouth.
