Old Man Isekai - Chapter 5
Yuno stepped into the ring and started talking about her magic.
“To make the fight fair, I’ll tell you about my magic. I can summon seven special swords.”
Swords were summoned one after another into Yuno’s hand.
"First sword: Volcano."
"Second sword: Hurricane."
"Third sword: Landslide."
"Fourth sword: Flood."
"Fifth sword: Blizzard."
"Sixth sword: Heatwave."
"Seventh sword: Earthquake."
Huh? These were translated into some scary names.
“Did I hear wrong, or were these swords named after disasters?”
“You heard correctly. These swords govern natural disasters. If I infuse them with real power, I can trigger large-scale calamities.”
“Yuno, what were you called in your original world?”
“They called me the Hero of Calamity, or sometimes the Hero of Disaster... sometimes even a walking disaster.”
Is that really a hero? She sounds more like a demon lord with that kind of title!
As I trembled nervously, Yuno noticed and explained.
“But don’t worry. I’ve sealed them with three layers of magic, so no disasters will happen. At worst, I might blow up a house.”
That’s bad enough! How can I be calm about this?
“How much can you hold back?”
“Haha, I like your honesty. I’ll try to just blow you away a bit.”
“Please, I’m counting on you!”
“Why does the old man sound so bossy?”
“By the way, should we bet something since we’re at it?”
“Sure. What do you want to bet?”
“If I win, Dai has to strip naked and apologize for his rudeness. If I lose, I’ll do whatever you say.”
“You’re offering a pretty generous reward if I win. Are you sure about that?”
“Well, that’s how much of a gap there is between our strengths.”
Yuno pulled out her second sword and got into position. The match began with her signal.
“Alright, let’s get started!”
Yuno charged toward me.
“Aah, but it’s already over.”
“Huh?”
Pop!
When I threw an object, smoke suddenly appeared right in front of Yuno.
“Argh! My throat burns! It hurts!”
It was tear gas. When it touches the skin, eyes, nose, or throat, it causes a burning sensation like a burn, along with coughing, difficulty breathing, and uncontrollable tears. I had made it myself, and surprisingly, it worked. Yuno couldn’t move from the spot. After the smoke cleared, I slowly approached him.
“Yuno, this is the end.”
Cough cough cough
“You’re cheating again! That wasn’t your strength!”
“I made this with my magic. Can you make something like this?”
“What!?”
Since I can generate stones using earth magic, I figured I could use magic to 3D-print minerals or materials if I imagined them correctly. It worked, but it took a lot of concentration and magic. I probably couldn’t do it again.
“Anyway, it’s my win!”
“Grr, I admit it. I can’t make something like that.”
“Then I’ll take my reward!”
When I gave Yuno a once-over, she hurriedly tried to cover herself.
“I-I’m still a virgin... please be gentle with me.”
Wait a minute! I didn’t even say anything yet!
“Old man, you’re the worst!”
“Dai, you were so cool before, but now you’re just awful!”
The women were scolding me as if I had already demanded Yuno’s body.
“Yuno, I’m not asking for your body.”
“Sorry, I misunderstood…”
“My only request is that from now on, we eat lunch together.”
“…That’s all?”
“You guys too!”
""""Eh?""""
“We don’t know enough about each other. Sure, everyone’s powerful, but we’ve been clashing instead of cooperating. Let’s have meals together to get to know each other better.”
Yuno was stunned, but she quickly stood up and offered her hand for a handshake.
“In my previous world, because of my powers, I didn’t get close to others, and my companions left me. But Dai, I think you’re okay. My name is Yuno Abel. Looking forward to working with you.”
“I’m Dai Amakusa. Nice to meet you.”
As I descended from the ring, talking with Yuno...
“I prefer eating alone, though.”
“No can do, Maya. You lost too, remember?”
“Then, how about a rematch?”
“No way. If we fight again, I’ll lose. I’m quitting while I’m ahead.”
“You’re so cowardly!”
While I was talking to Maya, Iris dropped a bombshell.
“I haven’t fought yet.”
Iris said something strange, so I asked her to clarify.
“What do you want to fight, Iris?”
She pointed her finger at me.
“You.”
Seriously?! Give me a break! I’m already at my limit physically and mentally! I’ll have to talk my way out of this.
“I’m tired, so how about we do this another time?”
“I want to fight now.”
“I don’t mind having lunch together, but does Iris have an issue with it?”
“I don’t have a problem with eating together. I just want to fight Dai.”
Damn it! What is she, from a race of warriors?! We were just getting along, and now this! Maya, seeing my distress, grinned and teased me.
“Can’t you grant a child’s wish?”
“Ugh, but…”
While I was frustrated with Maya’s comments, I locked eyes with Iris, who was looking up at me with innocent eyes.
“Is it not okay?”
“Fine, let’s do this…”
“Yay!”
Iris, that’s unfair! But what am I going to do... Unlike the other three battle-crazy members, I didn’t think Iris was the type, so I didn’t prepare anything. Fighting a little kid wasn’t part of my plan. I’ll just take it easy and lose right away!
I stepped into the ring.
“Alright, come at me! This old man will take you on!”
“Come out, everyone!”
Suddenly, five dog-like... no, wolf-like creatures appeared. What the heck is that?!
“Wait, no way! That’s cheating!”
“Go!”
“No, I can’t!”
I was immediately attacked by all five of them. They avoided my vital areas, but I was left with bite marks all over my body. Fortunately, Sharon healed me, but if it had been permanent, I would’ve been in serious trouble.
The next day at lunch, we all started eating together. For some reason, Iris demanded to sit on my lap as her reward for defeating me. Well, she’s cute, so it’s fine. That’s how I finally started having conversations with everyone.
