Chapter 99 - A Sudden Turn of Events

 "Yay!"

"High five!"

The crisp sound of palms hitting each other rang out.

"Lady Staff, congratulations on the pregnancy!!"

"And the same to you, Calibur! We’ve both realized a woman’s ultimate dream!"

Big Sis Calibur and Lady Staff hugged each other, faces beaming with joy. I hate to rain on their parade while they're getting all emotional, but this isn't the time to be celebrate.

"What on earth are we going to do?!"

I was the only one standing there with a face as pale as the end of the world. I’d managed to knock up every single woman I’d gathered for my circle. With my own seed.

What. Am. I. Going. To. Do?! (Round two).

"Everyone finding out at once?! Some of these women are high-ranking nobles who haven't even been married off yet! If word gets out, I’m going to be murdered—socially and biologically!"

"Calm yourself, Sao. There are very few people in this world capable of actually killing you."

"And I just pulled a 'stunt' that’s going to put me on the hit list of every one of those few people!!"

Good god! And there are so many of them! Does this world even legally allow polygamy? I haven't checked, but if it doesn't, this is going to be a bloodbath!

"It’s fine. If you have a high enough social standing, having multiple wives is tacitly accepted. In fact, Kings and Heroes can even maintain their own harems."

"I’m not a King OR a Hero, though?!"

Maybe I should have reincarnated as a Prince? Like a Seventh Prince or something—all the royal perks, none of the responsibility? No, too late for that. I'm just a commoner with a legendary 'pole'. No use crying over spilled milk!

"I’m sorry, Sao... I didn't realize you were so worried."

Big Sis looked at me longingly as I writhed in agony.

"I knew it would be trouble for you, but I love you so much. I wanted your baby. Besides, I have a goal of giving birth to a hundred of your children, so I have to start working hard now...!"

"What, are you planning on becoming a Mother Goddess?" Lady Staff chimed in.

Damn... she really said that.

I love my sister, too. I love her as a woman, as family, and as a convenient 'partner' I can hold whenever I want. There wasn't a single version of the future in my head that didn't have her in it. And the same went for Lady Staff and the others. If I’ve held a woman even once, I feel responsible for making her happy—no exceptions.

"...Fine. All I need is resolve."

I’d been panicking like a fool. I knew this would happen eventually given my lifestyle. Getting flustered just because the predicted future became reality is pathetic.

"Sex isn't finished until the woman is happy! A man who can't take care of his women doesn't deserve to call himself a player!"

"Hooray! Sao’s back!"

Alright, time to figure out how to support this many pregnant women. First: Money. Since I have no title or power, my only way to provide is through raw wealth. Money solves everything! I need to earn as much as possible right now to build up a 'child support' fund.

The plan was already set. My original goal for this trip was to strike it rich anyway.

Enter the dungeon as an Adventurer's Club. Loot herbs, ores, and monster parts. Get filthy rich.

"Change of plans. I’m heading to the dungeon alone. You all stay here."

"""""""""""""""""""Huh?!"""""""""""""""""""

The girls let out a collective cry of confusion.

"What do you mean, Sao? We were all supposed to go together."

"The situation has changed! You all have precious cargo in those bellies now. What if something happens?!"

Dungeons are death traps! Monsters, traps, rival adventurers... if even one of my precious women got hurt, or if a shock to the stomach put the babies at risk... my heart would literally shatter!

"So, I’m going alone. I’ll earn enough to cover the weddings and the child-rearing costs for the foreseeable future!"

"Sao... you have a very serious look in your eyes."

I'm always serious, thank you very much. Now, everyone, please realize that you have new lives inside you. Even if it's 'Week Zero,' my [Impregnation Switch] ensures 100% success. A mother’s duty is to protect that belly. Be extra careful with your health. Watch your step. No running. No stairs. No carriages—too bumpy. Try not to breathe too hard, either.

"We'd die," Lady Staff deadpanned.

"I'm just that worried about you all!!"

"I didn't realize you were such a worrywart, Sao," Big Sis teased.

"I thought you'd just say, 'Kids? Whatever, keep 'em coming!'"

"I would never! What kind of monster do you take me for?!"

I’m a cautious man. That’s why I kill any "player" types I see on sight—they might hurt innocent women.

"Anyway, it works out perfectly. You all stay here at the inn and relax. Soak in the springs every day; it'll keep your skin glowing."

"Well, that is a tempting offer..."

Good. The "Hot Spring Magic" worked.

"Is that alright with you, Landlady? I’ll pay the tab in full later...?"

"Of course. We haven't fully recovered from the goblin attack yet, so we won't be reopening for a while anyway. Think of it as a private booking..."

"You're a lifesaver!"

"However... I will require an advance payment for the lodging."

"Eh...?"

Just as I was wondering how to handle that, the Landlady spread her legs, revealing she wasn't wearing any underwear. Her entrance was glistening with a seductive moisture.

"Please... provide this poor, mature woman with an advance of your 'semen.' There would be no greater wage for me than to have this womb, already claimed by such a younger man, filled with even more of your seed... ❤️❤️"

Needless to say, I paid a very large advance.

And so, despite the sudden change in plans, I headed for the dungeon alone. My motivation was higher than ever. I was going to be a father! Power surged through me—the power of a man who has to provide for his family!

Thanks to that, a trip that usually takes three days on foot took me less than two hours at a full sprint. I arrived at the dungeon city.

Must be my 'pillar of the family' power shrinking the world, I thought. Oh well. The faster I get here, the faster I can earn and get back to my wives.

But then...

"Something's wrong with this place."

I’d been so hyped up that I hadn't noticed my surroundings, but now the eerie feeling was impossible to ignore. This city was supposed to be a bustling adventurer hub. The buildings were grand, the streets were clean... but...

"It's too quiet."

No bustle. No shouting. No sound of breathing. In fact, there wasn't a single soul in sight. No sounds of daily life, no people. There was only one conclusion.

"There's... nobody here?"

Not a single person? Impossible. A city this size should have hundreds of residents. Were they hiding? No, I’d still feel their presence. They were just... gone. Like a ghost town.

"Is this a 'Mary Celeste' situation? No, that's crazy..."

I felt like I’d wandered into a mystery novel. The wind blowing down the main thoroughfare felt lonely against my skin. No use standing around. I decided to head for the one place that should have answers.

"I'll try the Guild."

It was my destination anyway. Since there was no one to ask for directions, I spent more time getting lost than I did running to the city.

"Excuse me... is anyone here...?"

I stepped inside, half-expecting an empty building.

"Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild."

"Yikes!!"

I jumped out of my skin. I really didn't expect a reply. There was a figure behind the reception counter.

"To think someone would visit at a time like this... I suppose staying behind was the right choice."

"Uh, and you are...?"

"I am Lapee, the Guild Receptionist."

She looked to be in her mid-twenties, wearing a crisp, professional uniform. She was the polar opposite of the "Night Dress" mature receptionist I’d met in Singleroom; she was a proper, orthodox beauty.

That said, her voluptuous body looked like it was about to burst through her prim uniform. She had an innocent, beautiful face—I could easily see her being the "idol" of the guild. But right now, her presence was just plain creepy.

"So there is someone here. I thought the place was abandoned."

"Evacuation orders were issued. Every single resident has left the city."

"Evacuation orders?"

"I take it you haven't heard... then again, you wouldn't be here if you had. I heard the roads were closed; I’m not sure how you slipped through...!"

"Excuse me, but could you stop talking to yourself and explain? I’ve been confused since I stepped foot in this town. I’m just here to hit the dungeon and earn some diaper money!"

"...Right. You’re likely here for the city dungeon we manage. But you must leave immediately. Get as far away as possible, as fast as you can."

"Why?"

"Because soon, this city will be wiped off the map. Destroyed by a 'Great Calamity' coming from across the border."

"Wiped off the map? What is this 'Great Calamity'?"

"The Kingdom of Niosebuk. Their King was assassinated recently, and now that beast of a nation has lost its restraint. They’ve begun to unleash hell on everything around them."
