With my [Appraisal] Skill, I Became the Top of the Streaming World - Chapter 19

It was three days later when I received a message from the mana refinery saying, "It’s ready."

When I went to pick it up, I was presented with a translucent crystal in a small vial. It looked like an entirely different object from the bluish-gray lump I had brought in. Its transparency had increased, and light seemed to pool deep inside it.

"It reached 89% purity. That’s quite a good yield."

"How much will it be?"

"Subtracting the refining fee, I can take it off your hands for 76,000 yen."

I sold it right then and there. A rock I picked out of a wall had turned into 76,000 yen.

"Please bring in more. If you find clusters with that kind of density, we can consistently hit this level of purity."

"Understood."

No matter how many times I see it, the difference between the raw material and the finished product is fascinating. I headed home thinking about how I’d love to find another hidden gem like that.

Around noon, I got a call from Takasaka.

"One of our new members just bought a full set of equipment, but there are a few things that concern me. Could you give it an appraisal?"

"Is this evening okay?"

"That would be a huge help."

After finishing my errands, I headed to the clan office in the evening. Takasaka had laid out three items: a sword, armor, and a charm. Apparently, they had been purchased for about 150,000 yen in total.

Just like last time, I directed [Appraisal] at them one by one.

There was no contamination. No counterfeiting either. However, the quality was a full tier lower than expected.

"I don't see any contamination or forgery. However, this sword is at the bottom tier of Rarity C; this price is an overcharge. As for the armor, the materials are lower quality than typical commercial goods. I don't think it will meet its advertised defensive values."

Takasaka let out a small sigh. "I'll let him know."

"I can't say if it's an issue with the dealer or if he was simply swindled, but negotiating a return might not be too difficult."

"Thank you. I appreciate it."

After talking for a bit, I accepted the appraisal fee and left the office.

At night, I started my 14th stream. My subscribers had reached 6,180.

"Today, I'll be focusing on B4F."

『Over 6,000!』

『When did that happen?』

『Congrats!』

"I noticed we passed it too. Thank you."

I explored a different sector than last week. I hadn't spent much time on the south side of B4F yet.

After entering the dungeon and reaching B4F, I was wandering around the area when I spotted a small stone rolling near a fork in the path. It was about three centimeters, gray with a hint of green—unremarkable at first glance. But somehow, I felt that distinct sense of "something's here"—that unique intuition I get even before I run my appraisal skill.

"What do we have here?"

I picked it up and directed [Appraisal] at it.

Ether Calculus (Small)

Rarity: C

Current Value: Low (Individual)

Notes: A cluster of minute ether particles scattered within the dungeon. Utility and value are low on its own, but the value during refining doubles if multiple pieces from the same mineral vein are gathered. High probability that multiple similar items exist near the current location.

Recommended: Search surroundings and collect identical specimens.

"On its own, the value is low, but the appraisal says there might be more nearby. Apparently, if you gather several, the value doubles during refining."

『Search!』

『It’s a treasure hunt!』

『Check everywhere!』

"I'll give it a try."

I carefully inspected the area—along the sides of the passage, in cracks in the wall, and under ledges. After a few minutes of searching every nook and cranny...

"Is this it?"

A similar stone was tucked away in the shadow of a ledge, and as I pushed further, I found a third one lying near the wall.

"I found three. I’m recovering all of them."

The comments, which had been quiet since there hadn't been much to see, suddenly spiked.

『Nice!』

『Got 'em all!』

『The Scavenger's true worth on display.』

I directed [Appraisal] at the three items together.

Ether Calculus (Small) x3

Same Mineral Vein Origin: Confirmed

Estimated Value After Refining: 140,000–180,000 yen (Set refining)

Notes: Refining efficiency is significantly improved by having three pieces of the same origin. Value is more than double the sum of the individual parts.

Recommended: Bulk submission to a mana refinery.

"Separately, these three together would only be worth a few thousand yen. But because they're from the same vein, they become worth 140,000 to 180,000 yen."

The comments stopped.

『Huh?』

『A few thousand turns into 140k?』

『Aren't those just stones everyone else would miss?』

"I think most people would just step on them and walk past."

『That’s terrifying.』

『It’s over if you just walk past.』

『We really need the Scavenger's eyes.』

By the time I closed the stream, viewership had exceeded 6,300.

As I scrolled through the comments, I saw several posts saying, "I've started wanting to visit the Shinagawa dungeon lately."

It feels like the stream is starting to develop the power to draw people to the location. That makes me happy, but at the same time, it means the "Identity Thread" might start moving even faster.

"Well, I suppose it's not a bad thing."

With that thought, I finished the stream and left the dungeon behind.
