Using a Mysterious Spellbook Ended Up Creating a Slave Harem - Chapter 23

The Last Day of the First Term, and Heading into Summer Vacation

I walk up to the third floor of the old school building and stand in front of the Fortune Telling Club room. After a quick check of my appearance, I quietly knock on the door, which is stained from long years of use.

"……Yes."

"Hello. It's Saida."

"……Please, come in."

Pushing the door open to enter the room, I see the other two members of the Fortune Telling Club. The president, Ichikawa-senpai, welcomes me with an surprised look on her face.

"What in the world is going on? To have both of our ghost members show up."

"Oh, it's just that Kojina-san mentioned in the classroom that she was heading to her club activities."

"Is that so? Otowa-chan."

"……Yeah, I guess."

"That was a real disaster, wasn't it, Kojina-san?"

"A disaster? ……Did something happen?"

"Well, you see——"

Setting my bag down, I take an empty chair and fill Senpai in on what just went down in the classroom. Kojina-san doesn't do anything to stop my explanation, instead opting to pull a book from her bag and lose herself in reading.

"——I see. Well, Otowa-chan is incredibly cute, after all."

"Being too cute comes with its own set of problems, doesn't it?"

"Oh ho, so Saida-kun thinks Otowa-chan is cute too?"

"I mean, I don't think there's a single guy alive who would look at Kojina-san and think she isn't cute."

"…………"

Catching a glimpse of her out of the corner of my eye, I notice Kojina-san's cheeks and ears have flushed a faint crimson while keeping her eyes glued to her book. Catching onto this instantly, Senpai wastes no time teasing her.

"Ah! Otowa-chan is blushing!"

"……I am not blushing."

"No way, I've never seen Otowa-chan react like that before."

"You are mistaken."

"Whoops, am I getting in the way here? Should I leave the two of you alone?"

"……Mitsuho-san??"

"……Haha, don't look at me like that. It's a joke, just a joke."

Sensing that she might be crossing into dangerous territory, Senpai looks away and cuts out the teasing. Given their family connection, she seems to know exactly when to fold her cards.

"……Anyway, having both of you here completely out of the blue is a pretty lucky break."

"A lucky break... is it?"

"…………"

"Yep, today marks the end of the first term. And right after summer vacation, the second term arrives."

"Haa..."

Likely still recovery from the teasing, Kojina-san thoroughly ignores her. As a result, I am left with no choice but to keep the conversation going myself.

"So, what's the big event during the second term?"

"The second term? ……Is there some kind of issue regarding your post-graduation plans, President?"

"There is not! Believe it or not, my grades are just barely good enough to scrape onto the lower edge of the rankings posted on the bulletin board!"

"……So somewhere in the top twenties, then? Mind you, I'm sitting at the absolute top of that board, and Kojina-san is right beneath me."

"…………Why are the first and second place freshmen sitting in my room right now... No, that's not it! When we talk about the second term, we're talking about the School Festival, right?!"

"I knew that. I just didn't want to bring it up."

The moment she mentioned the second term, I figured she was talking about the Fortune Telling Club's plans for the School Festival. Just to be sure, I decide to confirm what exactly this senior wants the two of us to do.

"Are you planning on making me and Kojina-san help out?"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Once you hear my magnificent idea, Saida-kun, you'll be begging to join in."

"……Is that so."

"No, you'll practically be in tears, begging me to let you participate!"

"And where exactly does that confidence come from?"

Senpai wags her right index finger back and forth with an immensely proud expression. Thinking to myself that her smug face is actually pretty cute, I prompt her to share this so-called magnificent idea.

"In other words, it's something highly beneficial to me?"

"Exactly. After all..."

"After all?"

"We're going to have Otowa-chan dress up in a shrine maiden outfit to sell fortune slips!"

"…………Are you serious?!"

"……!! I—I never heard anything about this! What on earth are you talking about?!"

At Senpai's words, Kojina-san springs to her feet, letting out a stunned exclamation. Thoroughly tuning out her protests as if she hadn't heard a single word, Senpai keeps talking directly to me.

"Just picture it. Having someone as adorable as Otowa-chan in a shrine maiden outfit. It's guaranteed to be the talk of the school."

"Well, that's definitely true, but..."

"I—I am absolutely not wearing a shrine maiden outfit!"

Turning my attention back toward a thoroughly unconvincing Kojina-san, my eyes lock with hers just as I finish dressing her up in a shrine maiden outfit inside my head. The moment our gazes meet, her face flushes a bright crimson for some reason, and she quickly drops her eyes back down to her feet. Wondering if this reaction could mean exactly what I think it does, I turn my eyes back toward Senpai. She is staring at Kojina-san, carrying a look of profound surprise on her face.

"……Well, I certainly think Kojina-san would look incredibly mesmerizing in a shrine maiden outfit, but given her own feelings on the matter..."

"…………Y-Yeah, you're right. ……We still have a few months to go, so I'll ensure I win her over by then!"

"…………"

"Haa..."

"Alright, I'm going to have a little chat with Otowa-chan now, so shoo, shoo, Saida-kun!"

Despite having barely spent any time in the clubroom since arriving, I am promptly told to kick rocks. Then again, I don't exactly have any desire to stick around in this heavy atmosphere, so I readily comply with her words.

"Alright, I'm heading out then."

"Yes, thanks for dropping by. I'll get in touch with you once the second term kicks off."

"Understood."

"Look forward to it, okay?"

"Look forward to what, exactly? Well, if you'll excuse me. Have a great summer vacation, Kojina-san."

"What about me?"

"Make sure you study hard, President."

"Why am I the only one?!"

Offering my farewells to Kojina-san—who has sat back down and is currently staring off into space with a bright red face—and a laughing Senpai, I step out of the clubroom.

"Still, that reaction from Kojina-san..."

Walking down the hallway of the old school building, I can't help but mutter to myself out loud. I can't help but wonder if the Favorability Enhancement Magic—which had shown zero signs of working up until now—has actually been working perfectly this entire time. If that's the case, all the effort I put into casting it on her continuously even after our seats were rearranged was well worth it. After all, magic that acts upon the mind, including Favorability Enhancement Magic, can only travel in a perfectly straight line. Furthermore, if someone else happens to be standing between myself and my intended target, the mental magic will end up taking effect on that intermediate person instead. Because of that limitation, I had to go through the immense hassle of explicitly moving to a spot where there were absolutely no obstacles between myself and Kojina-san whenever I wanted to use it.

However, having witnessed her reaction today, I resolve to continue using the Favorability Enhancement Magic during designated school days and throughout the second term. It might even be a good idea to utilize the School Festival to my advantage and consider introducing the Affection Enhancement Magic into the mix. For the time being, I'll just hold out hope that Ichikawa-senpai can successfully persuade Kojina-san to participate in the Fortune Telling Club's festival booth, regardless of whether she ultimately wears the shrine maiden outfit or not. If everything goes smoothly, I might just be able to forge a relationship with Kojina-san as my actual girlfriend, rather than turning her into a crest slave.

And just like that, my very first high school summer vacation begins. Unfortunately, both Rina and Erika are buried under a mountain of work, meaning I won't be able to see them at all over the break. As a result, my options for sexual relief are limited to Iroha and Chihira. I continue to bed them consistently, maintaining an interval of roughly once every two to three days.

On a certain day in August, right as I am lingering in a light slumber on top of the bed after finishing sex with Iroha, she brings forward a proposal.

"……Um, Master. May I have a moment of your time?"

"Hmm?"

"The truth is, I have a younger sister."

"……Oh, really?"

"Yes. And regarding my sister, it seems she managed to get her hands on a pair of tickets for the Sistema Solare Grand Festival."

"She actually managed to score those?!"

Even if you try to buy them through standard channels, the odds are astronomically low, and attempting to purchase them from scalpers turns them into ultra-expensive platinum tickets. While I could easily secure them through Rina or Erika, I refrain from doing anything unnecessary to avoid exposing myself.

"Is your sister a fan of Sistema Solare?"

"……To be precise, she is a massive fan of Tomomi Uchikawa."

"Tomomi Uchikawa's? Not Rina or Erika?"

"Yes. She has even dragged me along to handshake events before."

For the record, I have already informed Iroha that Rina has also become one of my crest slaves. To think that her younger sister is a massive fan of an idol who could practically be considered a rival to her older sister's fellow slave.

"……To return to my point, it has been decided that she will be staying over at my apartment on the night before the Grand Festival."

"Your original apartment?"

"Yes. My family has absolutely no idea that this apartment exists."

If her family found out about the sex room located right near her school, it would likely stir up questions about how she's paying the rent, so this is definitely the correct move. Above all else, maintaining our standard everyday lives is what matters most.

"What do you think, Master? Would you be open to allowing my younger sister to enter your service as well?"

"……Is she cute?"

"I am often told that she looks a great deal like me."

Saying that, she picks up her smartphone, operates it briefly, and hands it over to me. Looking at the displayed image, I see two girls who look almost like identical twins smiling back at me.

"Her name is Yuzuha. She is currently a second-year in middle school."
